Yea for school!!

I love my girls more than I can even put into words.

Now I'm pretty close to loving school just as much! :)

The girls were very ready to start school. They were anxious to get back into their school routines and I think a little anxious to have some space from each other! Our house has been SO peaceful since school started!

Kylie's 1st Day of 1st GRADE!!!

Kylie's teacher this year is Ms. Karma. We LOVE her already!! She is so sweet and welcoming! Kylie walked into class and Ms. Karma just took right under her wing. She gave Ky a huge hug and made her feel right at home. (This is the point that I actually got a little teary-eyed. It was nice knowing that she cared about teaching Kylie enough to make her feel so wanted on the first day.) I realized that first grade might actually be a bigger adjustment for Kylie than kindergarten was. She's there longer, has a little more independence and has to learn how to buy lunch in the cafeteria!!! She was so excited to buy lunch at school -- that was the highlight of her day! Especially since they were serving corn dogs!! What's not to love about school??? :)

Taylor's teacher this year is Miss Lindsay. This is her second year with her and we absolutely love this amazing teacher!! This is our fourth year with Miss Lindsay -- Kylie attended her pre-school for two years before kindergarten -- and it won't be our last because Sydney is signed up to start with her next fall! As you can see in the pictures, Taylor relieves her stress a little differently than Kylie does! After a long day at school, Ky just has to veg. Taylor, on the other hand, has got to let those never-ending wiggles loose!

Bathtime Crisis

I put Sydney in the bathtub tonight and she started crying.

So like a good mom would, I asked her very calmly what was wrong. She normally loves baths and water so I was wondering if maybe the water was too hot or too cold or something...

She replied through her tears in her little Minnie Mouse voice, "I'm . . . soaking . . .wet!!!"

And, like a good mom would (I hope) I laughed hysterically!

Where does she come up with this stuff??

So many things, so little time...

Blogging about the Summer of 2008

To sum it all up the fastest way possible:
My Camera - super dumb.

Me - just lazy.

We've had a very laid back summer with pretty much no routine and no schedule -- but somehow managed to stay so busy that we are all completely exhausted and craving some sort of mundane routine again!!

And now, I have so many things I could post about that I don't even know where to start and pretty much zero pictures to share because I got so fed up with my camera that I usually just left it sitting in a dark little cupboard.

SO, I thought I would take it upon myself, without any permission at all, to swipe pictures of my cute little family off of the blogs of our family and friends who were kind enough to "take a picture of that for me" all summer long!

We have spent many days at the pool watching Taylor scream her little heart out through every session of swimming lessons and had many more days at the pool just having fun playing together.

We've watched Chad play softball and the SL Bees play baseball,

set off some fireworks and watched some even better ones,

spent a fabulous week in Nauvoo, Illinois & Willard, Missouri with the entire extended Jarvis Fam,

visited the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum in SLC,

joined my family (minus one Elder in Colorado) in spending an evening with my baby brother as he went through the temple for the first time,

had our favorite Aunt Casie, Uncle Miah and baby Brock come stay with us,

and seriously enjoyed ourselves way too much at TWO demolition derbies out here in "Too-ill-uh".

We've camped,

partied,
BBQ-ed,
read lots of books,

colored lots of pictures,

made lots of messes,

and played, played, played!

And now, school starts in two days for Kylie and one week for Taylor which means

summer is coming to an end and fall is upon us.

Which, let's be honest, in our house really only means one thing:

...BYU FOOTBALL...

The only thing that gets us through the last few days of summer vacation is knowing that

football season is on its way!

Can you just feel the excitement starting to build???
