Three months old

Camry is growing up so fast and changing every day! She's such a good baby...have I mentioned how grateful I am to the Lord for sending me such an angel!?? She really only cries when she is hungry. Sometimes she gets a little fussy if she has a tummy ache, but that's rare! Camry is our first baby to not have reflux and spit up gallons of milk after eating! Life is so different without having to worry about bringing five different outfits everywhere we go! She can stay in the same clothes all day! That's a first for our Jarvis babies. This is a picture I stole from my sisters blog that she took on Thanksgiving.

Our camera is currently out of order and I hope to get it fixed soon...
This is a picture of the cute little cousins on their blessing day, November 1. We blessed them all on the same day in Grandpa and Grandma's ward. We figured it would make that day so much more special for all of us, plus make it easier on all our friends and family...you know, one baby blessing instead of three separate ones?? The day was made even more special because Grammy and Grandad were able to be here with us! We are so thankful for them and their willingness to travel from Missouri to be here for such a special day!

A month already?

I can't believe that our sweet Camry is already a month old! This last month has seemed like nothing but a blur - but it's been wonderful! It's been so exciting and fun and exhausting .

Camry is such a good baby. I really couldn't have asked the Lord to send me an ~angel~ of a baby sweeter than her. She is so content and I can tell she already has a very sweet and pleasant personality. I love watching her sisters love her. They adore her! Chad and I went on a little date a couple of weekends ago - (it had been too long!) - and we took Camry with us. We hadn't been gone for very long before the babysitter sent me a text saying Sydney was crying because she missed her baby. How cute is that?!

Jaidyn was born to my brother Bryan and his beautiful wife Jessica!

I am so happy for them!

Jessica has become like my own sister and I am so grateful to have her in our family.

It has been so fun to be pregnant with Jessica and Lisa at the same time and so close together.

We've been able to be excited, nervous, happy and miserable together!

We've spent time talking about what our little ones were doing up in heaven together
and trying to guess when they'd come and join our family.

We've worried about each other and the little babies growing inside us.

We've laughed at our big bellies and all the things you experience during pregnancy.

I think it's brought us all closer together and I am thankful for that!

I cry just thinking about him and my sister and how proud I am of her!

the entire 18 hours of delivery and for the moment this little guy came into the world.

What a beautiful experience!

Camry Grace was born Sunday, September 6, 2009 at 2:42 am. She weighed 9 pounds 6 oz and was 20 inches long. I'll fill you in on the details when I feel like I can sit at the computer for a little bit longer! We're just so glad to have you here, Camry! We love you!!!!

Love this!!

Last fall I was able to spend the weekend in St. Louis with Chad's Mom and sisters. It was so much fun to be with them -- just hanging out, shopping, laughing and playing. While we were in St. Louis, we went to Deseret Books' Time Out for Women. It was wonderful! I highly recommend going if you ever get the chance. It was very uplifting spiritually and emotionally. Hilary Weeks was one of the speakers and performers and sang this song that perfectly describes a typical day in the life of a mom. . .

Syd's hair, St. George and Mother's Day

Finally!

For all of you who have been waiting for a picture of Syd's final hair cut, here it is!

I love it! It's so cute and SO easy to comb. Yes, I miss her long beautiful hair, but this cut was so worth it!While Lisa was in the hair chopping mode, I had her chop mine too. This picture is NOT my favorite but I put it up for two reasons: 1. To show Chad's Dad my dark, short hair AND 2. To show you what a good photographer Sydney is! She took this picture of me while we were sitting on the lawn at the St. George temple. I think she's got some potential!Here is a picture of the girlies at the condo in St. George. Aren't they so sweet?! I love it when they're all happy and not yelling at each other - or me, for that matter!
We got to talk to both of my missionary brothers this weekend for Mother's Day. It was so fun to hear their voices and listen to their stories. They have learned so much and have grown so much ~ I can't wait for them to come home! In fact, Mikey got his release date and he'll be home on August 17th!! That's like less than 100 days! It'll be so fun for him to come home in time for three new babies to be born!! I can't wait!

Speaking of Mother's Day, mine was WonDErFul! The girls brought me breakfast in bed ~ yummy french toast. Then, after church, we headed out to my mom and dad's where we just hung out waiting for the brother to call. My gift for mother's day this year was a maternity clothes shopping spree while we were down in St. George ~ which was absolutely what I wanted!

I am so grateful the Lord has given me the opportunity to be a mother to His daughters. I can't even thank Him enough for the beautiful, wonderful girls we have been blessed with! They are all so different from each other and each has captured a special place in my heart forever. I can't wait to meet our newest little angel girl! I'm so excited to watch the girls hold their new baby sister. I think they are more excited than we are! I am also so thankful to the Lord for helping me find the man of my dreams! Chad is all I ever hoped for and a little more! :) I am so grateful that he's so thoughtful and helpful. He honors his priesthood and fulfills his callings in the church above and beyond what is required of him. The most important quality I wanted in a husband was that honored the priesthood and was able to bless our family with that incredible power -and he does just that. He is such an example to me! I love you, boyfriend!

Being a mom is not an easy job for me and I am not perfect, but I sure try to be the kind of mom to them that my mom was and still is for me. So patient, kind, loving, faithful, forgiving and wonderful! I definitely try to be like her in every way possible and am so grateful for her example to me and for her friendship! (I love you, Momma!!)

And of course, my hubby's Mom, who I am so thankful to be able to call Mom -- what a wonderful woman! I admire her so much and am so grateful for all she did to raise the super wonderful son that she did! I wish we lived closer to each other so we could see each other more often, but Mom, know I love you and think of you daily!

So today I went in for my routine ultrasound -- you know, the one they always do at 20 weeks. I fell in love with her even more than I already was! The pictures we got were adorable. These were my favorite. She's sucking her thumb! How cute is that!!!???

I am SO excited for her to join our little family!! September seems SO far away!

Scissors Part THREE

Yes, the infamous "safety scissors" have caused trouble in our house once again.

No, fortunately this time it wasn't Taylor.

UNFORTUNATELY, this time it was my baby with absolutely amazing hair!!!

As you can tell by the little smirk on her face, she was quite proud of herself for cutting off about SIX INCHES.

Lisa is coming out today to see what she can do to fix it. Hopefully since it's not too terrible, she'll be able to do something besides chop it all off! The Lord must have known what He was doing when He inspired my sister to go to cosmetology school. . . He knew I'd need her desperately . . . and frequently!!! :)

"TO DO"

I just noticed it's been a LONG while since I've posted pictures.

Just being lazy, I guess. I'll put it on my "TO DO" list.

We just found out today that Jessica, my brothers wife, is preggo with a GIRL too!

Mom and Dad are going to go from three granddaughters to five (and maybe six depending on what Lisa finds out!) by the end of the year! GIRL POWER!!!

Easter Thoughts

Last week at General Conference I was especially touched by Elder Holland's talk about christ and His Atonement. It was a way of looking at things that I hadn't seen before. It reinforced my testimony that Apostles are special witness of Jesus Christ. The testimony given that day was very special indeed. I know that Christ lives, that He suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, died on the Cross, and was resurrected. He did this to overcome Spiritual and Physical death. I know that by and through Him we can return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again. I know that because of the sealing power of the priesthood through temple ordinances, we can live with Them as families forever. How amazing!! I found this video on www.lds.org yesterday. It's a GIRL!!!!

Yes, we're having another one! What a blessing it is to be priviliged to have FOUR beautiful daughters of our Heavenly Father sent to our home!!!

Truly Humbling

Every once in a while you come across something that really touches your heart and will stay with you for as long as you can remember . . . Something that teaches you about living and love and reminds you what this life is really all about. Well, this happened to me recently and has been on my mind for the last several weeks.

For as long as I can remember, I have absolutely loved the beautiful music of Paul Cardall. His piano arrangements of hymns and other music he's written have filled our home at least weekly, if not for a few moments every day. A couple of weeks ago I came across his blog through a blog of a friend. There is a long history that I won't go into, but Paul is waiting ever so patiently (and has been for over 200 days) for a heart so he can have a heart transplant. Reading through his blog has taught me so much about humility and love and the tender mercies of the Lord ~ that I have been brought to tears on many occasions becuase the Spirit has touched my heart.

I am so grateful for all that we have been blessed with. I know the blessings the Lord has given us are countless and I am truly grateful that my family is healthy. I am also grateful and humbled by what I am able to learn from the experiences of others who are willing to share their joys and sorrows with others. The Lord puts people on this earth so we can help each other and teach each other and for that, I am truly thankful.

I know I probably won't be ever to thank Brother Cardall personally for bringing the Spirit into my home through his music, or for what he has taught me through his trials, but I can at least try to take some of that with me every day and try to be better and do better. I will always be grateful that I have the knowledge that a loving Heavenly Father knows me and will not leave me comfortless or alone.

Happy Birthday, Little Tate!

I can't believe Taylor is five today! And, my, what a FUN five years we've had! Who knew this peaceful little baby would give me a run for my money unlike any could imagine??

I love everything about her! She's got the cutest laugh, the busiest little brain and the sweetest little dimple that shows up with her amazing smiles.

It's funny to watch her grow because while she's ALL GIRL . . . she's as TOMBOY as you can get. One of these days I will get a picture of her in her beautiful princess dress, playing in the dirt, collecting roly poly bugs and all other sorts of bugs she can find!

In fact, the other day as she walked out of her room ready for church, in her new PINK dress, PINK shoes and PINK sunglasses, Kylie said, "Mom, Taylor's got SHARPAY (from High School Musical) written ALL over her!"

She looked like a little pink DIVA ready to go out and conquer the world!!!!

Two years old and our FIRST episode of cutting her own hair. I LOVE this little face~ even if it always has a little dirt on it!

Can you see the little dimple?? I love it!!Yup, episode number TWO of "I'm going to cut my own hair". This time, obviously MUCH worse AND right before a family reunion! I showed it to her just now and she said, "that is not cute. I look like a boy." Hopefully her scissors and her own little hands will never come in contact with her hair again. I think she MAY have finally come to her senses. (Knock on wood!!)

We have a due date!

Yay! I think the morning sickness phase of this pregnancy is slowing ending! I'm starting to feel better each day . . . hopefully I'm not speaking too soon!

I had my first Dr. appointment on Tuesday. He couldn't find the heartbeat (scary!) so he decided right there to do an ultrasound. Thank heavens for modern technology! As soon as he got the ultrasound machine on and in the right place, I could see the little heart beating like crazy. Turns out this kid is already super active (yikes!) and gave the Dr. a run for his money while he was trying to measure the baby ~ wouldn't hold still!!!

Reminds me of another child we have . . . :)

Anyway, our official due date is September 17!

My brothers wife, Jessica is due September 9 and my sister, Lisa is due October 13!!! Our family is going to double the number of grandkids we currently have in just one month!!!

Which is more important: Dad or Money?

Yesterday I was getting a life insurance exam. They sent a phlebotomist to my house to get blood, weight, height, and blood pressure so they could find out what my chances of dying in the next 30 years are. My daughters were very interested in seeing all of this happen. They were sitting right there when I got my blood drawn and were asking many questions about who, why, what, and how. I started to explain to Kylie what life insurance is. I said, "Life insurance is when you girls and Mom get money if I die. Then Mom won't have to go to work, but will have enough money to pay for the things you need." I didn't tell her how much money the policy was worth. Kylie got very sad at the thought of her Dad dying and not being around. I was touched. Then about 30-60 seconds later she got this evil grin on her face, started laughing and said, "We're gonna be RICH! We're gonna be RICH!" I've never seen her so excited. She could hardly wait for the money to come in. I love this girl!!!!

"A BYU Man am I"

There are several reasons why I love BYU. The wonderful education, the beautiful women (one of which became my wife), the excitement at Lavell Edwards Stadium, the honor code, the noise in the Mariott Center, the calm feeling you getting when you walk into the testing center(j/k), American Heritage, Sacrament meeting at 7:30am or 5:30pm, and even living in Wymount Terrace. But the #1 most important reason why I love BYU is the standards we keep while at BYU. I wish other schools taught similar standards.

Are there people out there on the same team as this guy? If so, have you ever thought about killing yourself?

My Blog Background

I have had many emails and comments about my blog background so while I have a few minutes of downtime I thought I'd enlighten all of you who are curious.

I learned how to make my own background from "The Cutest Blog on the Block" under "blog secrets." Here is a link that will take you straight to it: http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/secret.php?id=2

To make my blogs, I use Photoshop. However, on her website, she mentions a FREE program that you can try.

I download free digital scrapbooking kits from any place I can find them and sometimes I even buy one or two because they are so cute and I can use them for scrapbooking too. Just search for "Free Digital Scrapbooking kits" on google or whatever.

For the header, I just make a smaller picture using the same program and save it as a jpeg on my computer. Then, I download it to blogger the same way you would if you were just using a normal picture for your header. A lot of it was just trial and error. I kinda just mess around with it until it works.

"Dumb dog!"

I think the girls are beginning to understand my frustration with their cute little dog, Rowdy. I am starting to hear MY words come out of THEIR mouths . . . and I LOVE IT!

For example:

Sydney came up from the basement this morning, crying and holding her chewed up princess purse. I asked her what was wrong and she managed to say through her sobbing, "the dumb dog ate my purse and I can't take it anymore!"

Yes, she really said that and it was one of THE cutest things I have ever heard!

Charter school?

I love you & am so grateful for you! You have made the last NINE years so WONDERFUL and I am so glad I have you! You are truly. truly my best friend. Thank you for all you do for me and our little girls! You work so hard to provide for us and are such a good example to us of hard work, dedication and commitment. I really could not have chosen anyone better to be with for forever!

Princess Taylor and Sly Little Syd

The other day I spent an ENTIRE hour with Taylor as she desperately tried to decide which of her five princess dresses she wanted to wear. Yes, an hour. And I'm not exaggerating! She'd say, "Mom, which one do you think I should wear?" So, I'd tell her, "well, I really think the purple one would look really pretty today." And she'd reply with, "yea, but mom, which one do you think I should wear?" (Um, didn't I just answer that?? I'm obviously not picking the right one...) Anyway, she finally decided. And, after a touch of lip gloss, she wanted me to take her picture.

Isn't she beautiful?? :)

NOT FIVE MINUTES AFTER taking her picture, she ran to the other room, CHANGED OUT OF HER DRESS, came back dressed in her snow clothes and was out the door. I guess the snow was just calling her name and it was too hard to resist!

In the meantime, Sydney was not wanting to be neglected. After all, there was a camera in the room! So I snapped a few million pictures of her in her Tinkerbell wings. This was one of my favorites!

This next picture, however, is my absolute FAVORITE of the day!
This is Sydney doing "what daddy can do!" Chad has the best "mad" face that he flashes at the girls when he disapproves of something they've done.

Well, Syd has mastered it.

A few weeks ago, after she had done something she shouldn't have (clawed Taylor's face with her fingernails) Chad called her over to talk to her.
Chad:"Syd, did you scratch Taylor?"

Syd:"Yup"
