The things we girls do for the sake of looking pretty!

Whoever said "a picture is worth a thousand words" was absolutely right! This picture was taken at the exact moment Kylie was getting her ears pierced. Although we explained to her numerous times what getting her ears pierced would entail, I don't think she really quite knew what to expect! She was brave though! She didn't shed a tear or make a sound and she let them do the other ear -- something I wasn't quite sure she was going to go for!

Check out the video at the bottom of my blog!

It's worth taking the time to watch. Hopefully we can all learn a little from this man.

Pictures of St. George

Here are a couple of pictures that I loved from our trip to St. George. . . While the boys were golfing, my mom and I took the girls to get pedicures. They loved being pampered -- as any girl does!! Sydney loved watching all the action and kept saying "Nee Turn?" (translation: Does Sydney get a turn?) I wish I could have let her, but she is just a little too young still. Aunt Lisa came down the next day and painted Syd's nails then.

My turn for tag!

TEN YEARS AGO . . . it was 1998. I had made it through half of my first year at BYU and honestly could not have been having more fun! 67-41: Long live the memories! :)

FIVE PLACES I HAVE VISITED . . . Man, I have been all over the place -- but some of my favorites were: 1)Paris, France 2)London, England -- Those two were with my favorite cousin and best friend Sherrie for our Senior Trip -- how lucky were we!?? 3)Maui, Hawaii -- by far the most memorable Christmas present mom and dad ever gave us!! 4)Las Vegas, Nevada -- one of the funniest get-aways with Chad ever!!! Everything that could have gone wrong did and all we could do was laugh about it!!! and 5)Disneyland -- this place will always be a favorite!!

FIVE THINGS ON MY TO DO LIST . . . Holy Cow! I have a never ending list of things to do! The number one thing on my to do list would be to actually accomplish something on my to do list but that would require not starting anything else on my to do list and that would be virtually impossible for me to do! Make sense? Just a hint: How many rooms in my house are half-painted???

I ENJOY . . . my kids and hubby, listening to my girls laugh, going to the temple, chocolate shakes with Snickers from Iceberg, a really good workout, the smell of Easter Lilies, the simplicity and bright colors of tulips, decorating my house, camping, being with my entire family, baking, reading, gardening . . the list could go on and on and on and on . . .

THREE BAD HABITS . . . spending too much time trying to figure out how to make my blog cuter . . . throwing my clothes on the floor (this has NEVER been a problem for me before . . . I'm the type of person that has to have a place for everything and put everything in its place, but the last year or so, all that has gone down the tubes . . . what the heck???) . . . and, as mentioned before, only half-painting rooms in my house. Which, doesn't have to do so much with me being lazy and just not finishing the job, but more about me not being able to commit to a color. And that is a super bad habit of mine!

FIVE THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME . . . 1) I told myself one week before setting up my blog that I would never blog. 2)I signed up with the PTA to be in charge of the Flouride program at the elementary school next year to help out a friend. What was I thinking??? 3) I made a New Year's Resolution to learn how to play tennis this year. 4)I really want to visit Italy 5)Growing up I SWORE I would never live in that place with the strange name that no one can pronounce . . . you know, Tool - e . . . and now I LOVE it here and want to buy 5 acres and live here forever!!!

FIVE JOBS I HAVE HAD . . . 1)Teller at Zions Bank 2)Office Manager at Helaman Halls on the BYU campus 3)Data Entry at a really boring place I can't even remember the name of 4)Cashier at a clothing place in the lame factory outlet mall in Draper 5)And either the rest of my jobs were more boring than the previous two that I can't remember ever having them, or after only being able to sleep for 3 hours last night, my brain has shut off completely.?!

My sweet girls . . .

must get their thoughtfulness from their daddy! Last night while Chad was working late, the girls fixed me a delicious meal consisting of pretzels, orange slices (I was out of it on the couch and had no idea they were using knives!!!), cherry tomatoes, a bowl of Cheerios with whole milk (love the Cheerios, can't stand whole milk!) and a glass of water. Kylie told me that they wanted all pink dishes for me but they couldn't find a pink bowl, and the piece of paper folded in half so it can stand by itself says "MOM" on it. And the best part??? They brought it to me on Sydney's high chair tray!! Cute, uh?

The Miracle of Modern Medicine

The instant I started feeling sick yesterday Chad called in some Tamiflu -- the antiviral medicine you have to start taking within the first 24 hours of having flu symptoms. Since Sydney, Taylor and my dad have all had the flu and we were all in one condo together for a week in St. George, it was pretty much a no-brainer that that's what it was. I only have had two doses and I feel SO much better!!!! Not quite 100% since I'm still a little sore from all the achiness, but I can move again and my fever has been gone since last night!! Oh happy day! (Do they have a magic pill like that to make my kids stop fighting???)

Dear Sole Fan of My Blog,

I apologize for not posting sooner, but we were on vacation for a week in beautiful Southern Utah, and although I DID have access to the internet all week long, I made a vow to stay away since blogging can be a little addicting (as Chad found out the other night when he spent way too many HOURS reading our blog and everyone elses he could find!)
So, now I'm home and can post, but I don't have my camera -- and who wants to see a post without a picture???
And to top it all off, I came down with an excruciatingly painful case of the FLU today -- which I caught from my kids after taking such sweet and loving care of them the last 10 days -- and the only reason I am able to sit here long enough to think of you is because my one hour window where the Advil takes the fever away is right now! Amazingly enough I would get the flu on the one day of the week where Chad works late! If that wouldn't have happened I would have started thinking that life was fair. . . ;)
However, he did come home on his 4:00 lunch break and bathed the girls, put a frozen lasagna in the oven and even went as far as setting out on the counter a bag of salad, a package of croutons, a can of green beans, a can of corn, a loaf of bread and even the garlic salt. Does it get any better than this? I submit that it does not! :)
I have the sweetest husband in the whole wide world!
Hang in there, and I promise you that one of these days, you'll see cute new pictures of our girls!!

My Tayto Baby

For all who know my Taylor, you will understand how this picture describes her in a nutshell. Need I say more?

Ok, Really?

I saw this video the other day on YouTube and I'm not really one that likes to point out the lack of other people's intelligence, (kidding!) but seriously, how can you live on this Earth, and NOT know that it is round??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehWv_qlKxSg

New Years Resolution #1

I have heard that when you set a goal you should tell people because it gives you accountability and you are more likely to achieve it. So, I thought I'd share with all of you my goal for this spring. . . I want to (yes, WANT to) run in a 5K on Saturday, June 14. I hurt my foot last summer and because of that haven't been running for a really long time while I've been waiting for it to heal. So I figured this would be a good way to get back into it. I'll keep you posted everyonce in a while on my training . . . but mostly just knowing that you all know that I'm working towards this will be a HUGE motivation for me!
